Sossion Reveals Deadly Disease That Killed His Mother
Former Secretary-General of the Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) and a former Nominated Member of Parliament representing workers’ interests in Kenya’s National Assembly, Wilson Sossion, has announced the sad news of his mother’s demise.
In a heartfelt statement shared on X (formerly Twitter), Sossion revealed that his mother, Ruth Chepng’eno Sossion, tragically collapsed at home and was declared deceased upon her arrival at Tenwek Mission Hospital.
“It is with deep shock and sorrow that we announce the passing on to glory of our beloved mother Ruth Chepng’eno Sossion.She collapsed at home and was pronounced dead on arrival at Tenwek Hospital.
May she Rest In Eternal Peace,” Sossion expressed in his statement.Following the heartbreaking news of the passing of Ms Chepng’eno Sossion, numerous friends, followers, and well-wishers have expressed their condolences and sympathies via social media.

Known for his prominent role in both Kenyan politics and education, Wilson Sossion served as the Secretary-General of the Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) from 2013 to 2017.
Subsequently, in 2017, he was nominated as a Member of Parliament by the Orange Democratic Party (ODM).
At the time of this article’s publication, it remains uncertain whether Mrs. Chepng’eno had been ailing before her untimely passing.
Leaders from various political backgrounds, including those from Bomet County, where Sossion hails from, have extended their heartfelt condolences to the former KNUT Secretary-General and his family.
