Shocking Scenes on How Ruto was Received in Kisumu

President William Ruto has been warmly received in Kisumu during his development tour in the Nyanza region.
“Kwanza kabisa watu wa Nyanza, na watu wa Kisumu, nasema asanteni sana kwa kunikaribisha hapa nyumbani, Kisumu dala,” he said
This is loosely translated to: First and foremost, to the people of Nyanza, and Kisumu, thank you so much for welcoming me home, here in Kisumu.
The head of state continued to thank the residents for the ‘little’ votes he received from them during the August 2022 elections.
“Nataka pia niwashukuru kwa ile kura kidogo mlinipa, nimekuja kusema asante sana, nataka niwaeleze kuwa tukikublaiana tukimaliza mambo ya uchaguzi tuendelee na mambo ya maendeleo na ndio maana niko hapa,” he added.

The President said the projects he had gone to launch in the county were long overdue as residents have been waiting for over 20 years.
Ruto spoke during the groundbreaking of theKabonyo Fisheries and Aquaculture Service and Training Centre in Nyando, Kisumu County.
The President is in the region for a four-day development tour and is expected to chair a cabinet meeting in Kisumu county on Tuesday next week.
This will be the first time a sitting president will be holding a Cabinet meeting in the Millennium City which has always voted for opposition leader Raila Odinga to a man.
Kisumu and Nyanza region as a whole has always overwhelmingly voted for Opposition Leader Raila Odinga.
