Ruto And Gachagua’s Division Reported
According to a report by Citizen TV this evening, President William Ruto and his Deputy President Hon Rigathi Gachagua’s Government is beginning to show signs of strain as a result of the efforts to have Ruto and Raila seek a political ceasefire.
Sources close to the situation have told the media that the Government is split down the middle, with some members supporting the Ruto-Raila ceasefire and others opposing it out of concern that it would lead to a repeat of the 2018 handshake moment.
Citizen TV claims that the tension has resulted in the Tanzanian president, Madam Samia Suluhu, flying back to her country after she was kept waiting for two full days.
As for what Ruto has been told, insiders claim that certain politicians have tasked the president with devising a strategy to prevent Raila from joining the government.
Some political figures reportedly worry that if Ruto shakes hands with Raila, he may lose support from voters in the run-up to the 2027 election.
