ONE KENYA ALLIANCE MAKES MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT THAT WILL SHOCK OTHER POLITICIANS
One Kenya Alliance (OKA) on Tuesday, July 20, made its final decision on the fate of the NASA coalition.
The decision was arrived at after hours of meetings held in Hermosa Gardens in Karen, Nairobi, the leaders announced that they will not revive NASA Coalition.
In a statement made by Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo Jnr, OKA announced that NASA is history.
He announced that parties that were initially in NASA will officially move out to push forward the OKA agenda.
Kanu led by Gideon Moi also announced that it would pull out of a coalition with Jubilee Party to focus on OKA.
ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi, Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka, Ford Kenya Leader Moses Wetangula, and Baringo Senator Moi were all present at the meeting held at Hermosa gardens in Nairobi.
Others included Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja, Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala among other members of parliament.
Sakaja on his part stated that a number of politicians have expressed interest to join the OKA alliance insisting that they have what it takes to produce the next president.
The alliance however failed to announce their presidential candidate to take on Deputy President William Ruto who has made his bid public.
Their statement clears the air on the fate of NASA and ODM’s future. Raila Odinga-led party already announced that it will be forming a coalition with Jubilee Party and field a candidate for the 2022 General election.
All leaders are angling to get an endorsement from President Uhuru Kenyatta who exits the scene in 2022.
Earlier, Kwanza Member of Parliament Ferdinand Wanyonyi, the Ford Kenya officials said they welcome Raila Odinga to the Alliance to form a formidable coalition to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Speaking in Kitale after launching the membership registration drive on Wednesday, July 20, 2021, the leaders said One Kenya alliance will form the next government and called on Raila Odinga to join the negotiations to have their flag bearer.
Wanyonyi said if Raila fails to join the team and go alone to the next general elections he will not defeat DP Ruto.
Wanyonyi who is among the Okoa Kenya secretariat said the Coalition will unite Kenyans ahead of the 2022 general elections.
