Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru has said she will announce her stand in politics in the next one month.

Speaking on Citizen Television on Tuesday night, the governor said Deputy President William Ruto and ODM leader Raila Odinga were selling the same ideologies to electorate and it wouldn’t be difficult to choose who to associate with.

“In this country, our political ideologies are more or less the same. Perhaps the approach is what is different.

“When the time comes, I will make it clear why I align to a given presidential candidate. In a month or so, you will know my stand,” she said.

The former powerful Devolution Cabinet Secretary in President Uhuru Kenyatta’s first term also said she was aware of a plan to make her a one-term governor.

Citing infighting that has rocked her county including an impeachment motion last year, the governor said she was ready to defend her seat.

“I have felt that there is a plot to ensure I retire as a one-term governor. My impeachment motion was one such attempt. Before that there was sabotage of hospitals.

“But I also know I need to do all I can to win a second term. That is democracy,” she added.
