KAMITI TERROR ESCAPEE ISSUES A STRONG WARNING.
Kamiti terror escapee have issued a strong warning. Musharaf Adbdallah, alias Alex Shikanda, was speaking to civilians on Monday at the Anti-Terror Police Unit headquarters in Kahawa Law Courts.
“Ee lazima nitoroke,” he stated, adding “Si ninarudi jela miaka mingine, pamoja na ile yangu?”
One of the three terrorism convicts who had escaped from Kamiti Maximum Prison before they were later re-arrested now says he cannot bear another term in jail and could escape if he gets the chance.
Musharaf Abdallah, alias Alex Shikanda, was speaking to civilians on Monday at the Kahawa Law Courts.
“Nilikuwa natafuta uhuru wangu, nimekaa miaka kumi hapa ndio maana nikajaribu kutoroka,” Shikanda said.
Asked whether he would escape again if he gets any chance, Shikanda replied: “absolutely!”
“Ee lazima nitoroke,” he stated, adding “Si ninarudi jela miaka mingine, pamoja na ile yangu?”
Shikanda alongside Joseph Juma Odhiambo and Mohamed Ali Abikar, dislodged a brick from their cell wall before scaling two high walls using ropes, ironically without even those manning the CCTV facility noticing their movement.
Sources say that after the escape, they used a private car from Kamiti to Machakos where they used a public service vehicle to move from Machakos to Kitui Town and eventually to Endau.
Detectives who have secured two phones used by the three during the escape are still searching for two vehicles, one believed to have ferried them to Machakos and the other one believed to be on standby to whisk them into Somalia.
The three told the court last week that they were aided by prison officials to escape from the well-guarded facility before finding their way to Kitui County.
The trio did not, however, take a plea as the prosecution side requested for more days to detain them as they continue with investigations.
