DETAILS OF 6 LISTED CANDIDATES FOR CBK GOVERNOR JOB

The successful candidate will take over from the current governor Patrick Njoroge whose term is coming to an end.

The Central Bank of Kenya has shortlisted five people for the position of Governor.

Among those shortlisted is the former Principal Secretary at the National Treasury Kamau Thugge.

Thugge was forced to quit office alongside former Treasury CS Henry Rotich after they were faced with corruption allegations.

President William Ruto however handed him a lifeline in October 2022 after he appointed Thugge as senior adviser and head of fiscal and budget policy in the Executive Office of the President.

Former Deputy Governor Haron Sirma is also among those shortlisted for the job.

Sirma has been serving at the National Treasury’s Debt Management office.
