Autopsy Finally Exposed What Killed Khalwale’s Employee
The burial of Kizito Moi Amukune, the caretaker and trainer of Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale’s fighter bull, is scheduled for Monday following a post-mortem that attributed his death to injuries inflicted by the bull.
Government Pathologist Dr. Johansen Oduor dismissed murder speculations, affirming injuries consistent with an animal attack. Dr. Oduor clarified the wounds as penetrative and resembling those caused by a blunt object, possibly a horn.
The autopsy results were confirmed by Senator Khalwale and the deceased’s family, expressing frustration over the delay in burial due to unwarranted speculations.
Dr. Oduor’s announcement brought closure, allowing the family to proceed with funeral arrangements. Khalwale expressed relief and condolences while acknowledging the support from the government. The family appealed for financial assistance, citing prolonged expenses during the investigation.
Kizito, aged 47, was fatally gored by Khalwale’s renowned fighter bull, ‘Inasio,’ at his Kakamega residence. The Senator recounted the discovery of the body by another employee, emphasizing Kizito’s two-decade role as caretaker for the fighter bulls. Following Luhya traditions, Khalwale slaughtered the bull responsible for the attack.
Controversy arose when a Kakamega businessman challenged Khalwale’s account, prompting the Senator to postpone the burial for a probe. He engaged DCI detectives in a fact-finding mission at his Malinya home to address the conflicting claims.
Khalwale denounced baseless allegations, emphasizing the need for a thorough investigation into Kizito’s unfortunate demise. The resolution of the autopsy findings provided clarity, allowing the family to proceed with the burial, alleviating the prolonged distress caused by unfounded speculations.
