ALL KENYANS TO RE-APPLY FOR IDs

The Kenyan government finally spoke up this afternoon with a strong message to all Kenyans on national identification cards.
Today, May 24, 2023, the Kenyan government announced the strategic launch of new national identity cards with specific characteristics to ensure data security for Kenyan nationals through the ministry of interior cabinet secretary Prof. Kithure Kindiki.
The Kenyan government has revealed that the newly institutionalized national identity cards include features for facial, iris, and fingerprint recognition in addition to other specific characteristics.
The Kenyan government has further stated that a QR code will be included on the new national identity cards to allow for digital identification of Kenyans.
All Kenyan nationals, both inside and beyond the country’s borders, have been informed by the Kenyan government that they will begin getting the new national identity cards on September 16, 2023.
