All Kenyans to Get New IDs From This Date

The Head of State, His Excellency Dr. William Samoei Ruto, stated during a media interview today, August 9, that all Kenyan residents will receive a new national identity card called a Digital Identification Card within the next three months.
The issuance of digital identification cards to Kenyan nationals residing inside the country’s wide borders will begin on October 1st, 2023, according to President Dr. William Samoei Ruto.
The President emphasized the essential significance of the introduction of digital identification cards, stating that they will greatly facilitate citizen identification when utilizing government services.
