KABOGO MAKES A SHOCKING POLITICAL ANNOUNCEMENT

Former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo has officially declared his intention to recapture the seat at the August polls.

Kabogo will contest for the seat under his Tujibebe Wakenya party, which he said is also open to coalitions with other like-minded political outfits.

He spoke on Tuesday when he chaired a consultative meeting attended by aspirants interested in contesting for various elective seats under the party.

The Tujibebe Wakenya boss also announced that the party will hold its National Delegates Convention (NDC) sometime this month.

Kabogo, in his quest for the Kiambu County top seat, will now battle it out with a host of other politicians who have also declared interest among them incumbent Governor James Nyoro.

Others are vocal Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria, Kiambu Senator Kimani Wamatangi, County Assembly Speaker Stephen Ndichu, Thika MP Jungle Wainaina, as well as former governor Ferdinand Waititu.

Kabogo was elected Kiambu’s governor in 2013 but lost the seat to Waititu in 2017.

Waititu was however later impeached over graft allegations, leaving the position to his then deputy Nyoro who continues to serve to date.
