SEVERAL DEAD IN A FATAL ACCIDENT.

Ten people have been killed including the driver of an ill-fated lorry that was transporting rice to the border town of Isebania before developing brake failure and crashing in Migori.

The driver lost control of the lorry on the Migori – Isebania road and, according to eye witnesses, started hooting at Chamkombe area signalling brake failure before knocking several people in the busy town.

Witnesses told Citizen Digital that two people were knocked down at River Migori, with efforts to save them still proving futile as the river is currently inaccessible.

They further blamed the Migori County government over what they termed as poor management of parking space within the town, saying the road is narrow and needs a proper structure to curb such incidences in the future.

Migori County Police Commander Mark Wanjala confirmed the incident saying investigations have already began to establish the cause of the accident.
