Kalonzo & Karua Suffer a Major Blow After Ruto-Raila Deal Leaks
President Ruto has made himself available for conversation with Raila Odinga through his Twitter account.
Azimio claimed that there was a better way to issue the invitation, but it seemed likely that the two leaders would meet anyhow. According to sources, a political agreement will be reached.
This comes at a time when Azimio has decided to hold a vigil in memory of those who have died as a result of his protests, as well as to slow down his protests.
Raila’s supporters aren’t sure if a political ceasefire is legitimate. He asserts that the former prime minister can abandon his political allies, just as he did when he made a deal with the previous president Kenyatta.
Leaders of Mount Kenya who support Azimio are likewise dissatisfied with the arrangement. They contend that they were excluded from the committee established to guide the negotiations. They contend that because they were excluded from the committee, they will probably be excluded from any deals that are negotiated.
One of the commanders aligned to Azimio in the Mt. Kenya region said, “This has caused discomfort in our team because, despite some of us supporting his (Raila’s) cause, by being left out in the menu we shall not have food.”
