Jalango Ranked the Worst Performing MP
Embakasi East MP Babu Owino has been ranked the best-performing MP in Nairobi by research firm Infotrak continuing his streak as the best among city MPs.
Infotrak’s latest report gave the youthful MP a 60 per cent rating even as reports that he has set his sights on the Nairobi Gubernatorial post continue to surface.
Westlands MP Timothy Wanyonyi was ranked second with a 58 per cent rating.
Lang’ata Member of Parliament Phelix Odiwuor popularly known as Jalang’o was ranked 10th tying with his Dagoretti North counterpart Beatrice Elachi.
Embakasi Central MP Benjamin Gathiru and his Embakasi North counterpart were ranked position three and four respectively.
Tom Kajwang representing Ruaraka and John Kiarie of Dagoretti South tied for the fifth position with a 54 per cent rating.
Mark Mwenje (Embakasi West), Ronald Karauri (Kasarani) and Julius Mawathe (Embakasi South) all tied for seventh position with a 52 per cent rating.
Infotrak in the report rated the two first-term legislators at 50 per cent.
‘Our current index was conducted between July-September 2023,” the report noted.
The report based its findings on a sample of 3,400 people in Nairobi selected based on various parameters including; the population and number of wards.
While releasing the report, Infotrak stated that the report was 95 per cent accurate with a 5 per cent error margin.
Countrywide, Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro was ranked as the top-performing legislator with a 70 per cent rating.
