GOODBYE: UHURU MOVES OUT OF STATE HOUSE

A photo alleging that President Uhuru Kenyatta is moving his personal items from State House is not true.

The photo, which went viral on social media platforms on Sunday showed two trucks, belonging to cube movers leaving State House.

A spot check by Citizen showed that the photo was taken in 2013, before President Uhuru occupied State House.

The moving trucks were pictured leaving State House on April 9, 2013, on the day of Uhuru’s inauguration as he assumed his first term in office.

On that day, Journalists Larry Madowo and John-Allan Namu had shared the pictures on their twitter posts.

The widespread reports indicated that the moving company was transporting Uhuru’s personal items from State House, a home he has been occupying for nearly 10 years.

The reports on Uhuru moving his personal items were propelled by blogger Dennis Itumbi, who claimed that the incumbent President’s “personal cars were moved from State House garage and that his private items were also being moved.

After his tweet, a section of Kenyans on social media picked the report, which they circulated alongside the photo of the moving truck.

The whirlwind about the next occupant of State House comes a day before the Supreme Court of Kenya gives its ruling on whether it will uphold the election of William Ruto as the 5th President of Kenya.
