After the majority leader of the national assembly and a member of the vetting committee tabled the report of the committee about the nominees presented by President William Ruto, the house got emotional as mbers of parliament presented their views on the same.

The rejection of Kitui’s former DG caused fierce reactions among members. Member of Parliament from UDA party and chief whip Sylvanus Osoro opposed the report saying the criteria used by the committee to reject her was not enough.

Osoro defended the nominee for not being eloquent saying she could have been on her period and could have contributed to her anxiety.He notes that the lack of public confidence to answer questions by the nominee might have also been caused by her monthly menses.

“Which criteria did the committee use on Malonza? Why not use the same criteria used on Aisha Jumwa and Mithika Linturi on her? She might have been scared of cameras and that happens to anyone. Maybe she was on her period,” Osoro said.
