BIG MISTAKE MURKOMEN DID AND HOW IT’LL COST THE WHOLE COUNTRY
Former Bonchari Member of Parliament aspirant Cliff Ombeta has now predicted doom for Kenya after Cabinet Secretary Transport, Roads and Public Works Hon Kipchumba Murkomen spill the beans on the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) contract.
Taking to his Twitter account on Tuesday evening, the renowned criminal lawyer alleged that the CS made a big mistake by divulging the details of the contract to the public.
According to Ombeta, Kenya is set to face the consequences of disclosing the contract details without consent. He says Kenya should not have signed that part of the contract.
“Nondisclosure agreement is exactly that. To disclose, both parties must consent to it. It should not have happened. It has consequences. Kenya should not have signed that agreement, but they did. Binding,”said Cliff Ombeta.
The sentiments by Ombeta comes after CS Murkomen walked the talk and exposed the agreements which has elicited mixed reactions among Kenyans.
Uasin Gishu woman representative Gladys Boss Sholei has weighted on the details of the contract arguing that it was “risky” for the government to loose even port Mombasa.
“For resolving disputes, SGR contract applies Chinese Law and Chinese Language. Arbitration EXCLUSIVELY by the CHINA INTERNATIONAL ECONOMIC AND TRADE ARBITRATION COMMISSION.
Kenya waived all immunity. In other words, an Arbitral award annexing Mombasa Port can be easily enforced,”said Sholei on Tuesday morning.
