Beautiful Nairobi Governor Anne Kananu Gives Out Good News
Nairobi Governor Anne Kananu says families whose houses have been demolished from a contested parcel of land in Mukuru Kwa Njenga will not be forced away from where they have lived for decades.
The governor who was attending a church service at the House of Grace, Nairobi west said families who have not occupied road reserves in the informal settlement will receive assistance to rebuild their homes.
She says the county’s Disaster department is currently providing food assistance for slum dwellers who have lost their homes in past evictions.
“People’s houses have been demolished, we are going to return them including those at Mukuru Kwa Njenga,”Governor Kanan said on Sunday.
“We want them back, they have lived there for more than 30 years.. If anyone is in the road reserve, we are going to remove them from the road reserve,”
