MOSES KURIA ANNOUNCES DRASTIC ACTION HE’LL TAKE IF HE LOSES

Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has hinted that he might quit politics in the event he loses the Kiambu gubernatorial race in the August polls.

This comes hours after reports emerged indicating that Kuria hadsubmitted his name alongside others as nominees of his Chama Cha Kazi party to be considered for nomination to Parliament.

However, in a statement on Tuesday, July 12, the legislator stated that he had not forwarded his name for a nomination as an MP.

Kuria said that he would not be seen in politics in the event he fails to clinch the Kiambu Governor’s seat.

“The law is very clear. If you vie for an elective seat, you can not forward your name for nomination on the party list. It is simply not true that I have forwarded my name to be nominated as an MP.

“My single minded focus is to be elected Governor of Kiambu County and to have William Ruto elected as President. Both outcomes are assured and what remains is a formality. In the very unlikely event if I am not elected, you will not see me in politics again let alone seeking to be nominated. There is life beyond politics,” he said.

In the Kiambu gubernatorial race, Kuria is battling it out with Kimani Wamatangi (UDA), James Nyoro (Jubilee), William Kabogo (Tujibebe), and independent candidate Patrick Wainaina, popularly known as ‘jungle’.
