WILLIAM RUTO ASKS FOR FORGIVENESS

United Democratic Alliance (UDA) presidential candidate William Ruto head to Turkana county today July 9, 2022, where he is set to hold a series of rallies.

Ruto will kick off his campaign in Morulem, before proceeding to Lokichar, Kaikor, Lokichoggio, and Kanamkemer centres.

The Deputy President’s tour will culminate with a major rally in Lodwar – the headquarters of Turkana county.

Ruto will be accompanied by several local Turkana politicians including outgoing governor Josphat Nanok who is the head of his campaign secretariat.

Ruto in Marsabit
The Deputy President’s visit to Turkana comes just days after he triggered an outrage in the neighbouring Marsabit county.

Ruto came under sharp criticism from a section of Marsabit residents and political leaders for condemning the dusk-to-dawn curfew imposed in the region following a spate of insecurity.

“The imposition of curfews to manage insecurity in any part of the country is short-term; it is not the solution to the problem,” he said.

The residents, led by SAKU parliamentary candidate Barille Abduba, termed Ruto’s sentiments as ill-advised, stating that his comments did not align with the affairs on the ground.
