REASON KARUA ABANDONED HIS VEHICLE IN ELDORET

Azimio deputy presidential candidate Martha Karua surprised many in Eldoret when she abandoned her vehicles and walked through the streets of Eldoret hunting for votes.

Karua walked for more than three kilometres waving to residents and urging them to vote for Azimio on August 9.

She was flanked by nominated MP Maina Kamanda among other Azimio leaders.

Most political leaders usually campaign atop their cars but Karua opted to walk through the streets, a departure from the tradition.

She addressed residents at the Eldoret main market on her way to a rally at Huruma grounds.

Earlier, Karua was at the Ayub Kinyua PCEA church in Eldoret where she attended a church service ahead of the campaigns.

Karua received a rousing welcome at the church where she also urged religious leaders to pray for the country ahead of the polls.

“The church should also help Kenyans to understand the difference between bad and good even as we prepare to elect leaders for our nation”, Karua said.

It’s the first time Karua is visiting the region after she was appointed as running mate to presidential candidate Raila Odinga.

The region is Deputy President William Ruto’s home county and a perceived stronghold but Azimo enjoys support mostly within Eldoret.
