Autopsy Reveals What Happened to Jane Mwende
Jane Mwende Mwanzia, a hairdresser in Mlolongo, Machakos County, was found dead of apparent strangulation.
The autopsy performed on Mwende, 29, on Thursday night at the Montezuma Monalisa Mortuary in Machakos town revealed that he died of asphyxiation due to physical neck compression.
“Kulingana na ile ripoti kutoka kwa daktari, kifo chake kilitokana na kulinyongwa…maisha yake ilipotea kutokana na kunyongwa…John Mutuku, a spokesman for the family, stated, “walifanya kufunga shuka na kukaza.”
Following these revelations, authorities have made substantial progress in the terrible case of Jane Mwende’s murder, and her family has called for a swift inquiry.
“Kupitia kwa hawa wapelezi tunaomba wafanye haraka tuweze kupata haki,” Mutuku elaborated.
The murder suspects were arraigned on Wednesday and given another 10 days to be held in police custody while the investigation continues.
Senior Principal Magistrate Barbra Ojoo of the Mavoko Law Courts has upheld the State’s detention of Evelyn Wanza Katumbu and Faith Nthemba Kyalo pending the outcome of ongoing investigations.
However, Januaries Musau, the primary suspect and a key prosecution witness in the murder case, was released and is now free to leave the country.
According to Musau, alias Shady, his wife Evelyn Wanza, and a local woman named Phyllis Mbithe, Mwende may have disappeared as a result of a love triangle.
Faith Nthemba Kyalo, 25, is suspected of calling Mwende on the day she vanished to frame her for her murder. At their Phase 3 rental homes, Faith and Phylis Mbithe are next-door neighbors.
On Tuesday, the body of Mwende, 29, was found in a pit latrine in one of the apartments.
