FRESH DETAILS EMERGE ON HOW SERIAL KILLER WANJALA ESCAPED FROM PRISON

New details have emerged detailing how self-confessed child serial killer Masten Wanjala escaped from Jogoo Road Police station.

Speaking to an irate mob in Bungoma before he was lynched on Thursday, Masten reportedly narrated how he escaped from police custody, noting that he disguised himself as one of the many petty offenders who’d been arrested for violating Covid-19 protocols.

After disguising himself as a petty offender, he allegedly handed cash to some of the officers on duty before being allowed to walk away.

It was until the following morning that police discovered he was missing. By that time, he had reportedly hiked a lift on a lorry and travelled to his village in Bungoma, where he was lynched by an angry mob on Thursday.

According to media reports, the serial killer behind the murder of 13 children was murdered in Mukhweya village, Bungoma County.

News of his murder was confirmed by Bungoma Assistant County Commissioner Cornelius Nyaribai.

Meanwhile, Wanjala made headlines after he confessed to the murder of 13 children aged 15 and under between 2014 and 2021.

He was arrested by detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in July this year, after a trail on the disappearance of two children in Nairobi led sleuths to his whereabouts in Kitengela.
