Vihiga deputy governor Patrick Saisi has lost his wife Ashura Masud Saisi.

Ashura was found dead in the house on Thursday afternoon by one of her children.

Saisi’s personal assistant Silvanus Cordia said Ashura has been battling heart complications.

Her death comes at a time when the DG is in bad books with his boss Wilber Ottichilo.

Ottichilo through his Facebook page eulogised Ashura as jovial and welcoming mother.

“I have learned with shock and deep sadness about the passing of Mama Ashura Saisi, wife to my deputy,” Ottichilo said via his Facebook page.

He said Mama Ashura was a welcoming, jovial, humble, insightful person who shall be dearly missed.

“On behalf of my family and the people of Vihiga, I extend my condolences to Saisi and family for this deep loss. May the good Lord rest Mama Ashura’s soul in eternal peace ,” said the governor.

Saisi has been working as Ottichilo’s deputy since 2017. However the two have been having strained relations from 2018.

Ottichilo had accused his DG for engineering his downfall.
