KALONZO MUSYOKA FINALLY CLEARS THE AIR
Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka now says he will traverse the country in a bid to popularize ODM leader Raila Odinga’s presidential bid.
Kalonzo, who was speaking in an interview with KTN on Monday, said he will support Odinga to clinch the presidential sit in the August polls after signing a coalition agreement on Saturday during the Azimio La Umoja National Delegates Convention at KICC in Nairobi.
Kalonzo added that much deliberation had been done to set aside self ambitions and give priority to affairs of the nation.
“I pray that he (Odinga) becomes the next president and I will go everywhere to tell Kenyans, let us give it to this brother (Raila). We have put safeguards under the three-legged stool (a coalition between him, President Kenyatta and Raila),” said Kalonzo.
“The important question is what is in it for Kenyans some of us are that selfless. We do not go into it for personal gain. That’s why I decided to say this for the third time, ‘Raila Odinga tosha’, for the sake of this country.”
The Wiper Party leader also denied claims that he will be taking charge of the Azimio la Umoja outfit since Odinga is out of the country saying that he will pivot his focus on campaigning for the movement’s captain.
He claimed that attention should be fixated on the new political outfit and not on who will take the mantle while the party’s flag bearer is away.
“I don’t know about who takes charge, we have not even discussed this…I wish him well, I think he has very important engagements out there.
For me the train has left the station and I see people in all parts of the country trying to fight for Raila and indeed we will all do the same thing,” he said.
“Going forward under the grand coalition, and the name for the avoidance of doubt is Azimio-One Kenya, which will be registered under the amended political parties act as coalition political party.”
