MUSALIA MUDAVADI LEFT LONELY AT THE ALTAR
Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya has declared his unwavering support for the ODM party and it’s leader Raila Odinga, ahead of the 2022 general elections.
While addressing ODM MPs and constituents of Suna East in Migori county yesterday, Oparanya said that unlike other leaders who’ve continually ditched the party during general elections, he has always stood by Raila adding that he has a good reason for doing so.
“In 2013 Musalia Mudavadi vied for the presidency. And he approached me with the aim of persuading me to join his camp. I refused and in that election, Raila beat Mudavadi by over 300,000 votes in Kakamega,” Oparanya said.
The Kakamega governor was speaking on Sunday, August 2 at the home of Suna East MP Junet Mohammed who was hosting the ODM boss and other party leaders at his home.
Oparanya further said that during every election Raila vied for presidency, he (Raila) always garnered majority of votes in Kakamega adding that subsequently, he shall join the ODM chief in hunting for the presidency.
“I have already served my two terms as governor. And now my agenda is to stand with Raila as he goes for the presidency,” Oparanya said.
Oparanya who is ODM deputy party leader also took a swipe at some of the party’s members, accusing them of taking a second seat in the affairs of the party immediately after they are elected.
