WHY KALONZO MISSED MASHUJA DAY CEREMONY

Amani National Congress(ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi has disclosed that Kalonzo Musyoka is out of the country and that’s why the latter missed the Mashujaa Day celebrations at Wang’uru stadium in Kirinyaga County today. 

The former Vice President was notably absent in the ongoing celebrations in Kirinyaga County graced by various political leaders. 

During his address, Mudavadi also urged tolerance among Kenyans stating that leaders need to respect ‘constitutional boundaries.’ as outlined in the Kenyan laws.

Citizens turned up in large numbers for the Mashujaa Day celebrations in Wang’uru Stadium in Kirinyaga County today, October 20, 2021. 

This comes as a section of Kenyans braved the cold and heavy downpour to arrive at Wang’uru Stadium as early as 5 in the morning.

Malawian head of state Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera was the chief guest at this year’s Mashujaa Day celebrations, which marked President Uhuru’s last in office. 

While speaking during the Mashujaa day celebrations, Governor Anne Waiguru said, “I welcome you all to Kirinyaga County On this #Mashujaa2021. I know some of you may have been in the County before. I’m also told some came just to see what it is about this small County that makes headlines so often.”

During his turn, ODM leader Raila Odinga stated,” There has never been a war between Kikuyus and Luos, they have been partners in the struggle for independence for this country. This tribalism thing is skin thin.”
