WHY AZIMIO HAS BANNED PARTY BRANDED ATTIRES DURING PROTEST.

Azimio La Umoja Coalition parties – ODM and Jubilee – claimed that there were plans that detractors to dress up people in the party’s attire with the intention to disrupt the peaceful march.

“Please note that this is a march by Kenyans, not a Jubilee party event, as such, none of our members and supporters attending the march tomorrow (Monday) should dress up in Jubilee Party attire or colours,” said Embattled Jubilee Secretary Jeremiah Kioni in a statement on Sunday night.

The same was expressed by Raila Odinga-led ODM Party which also said that none of  its supporters will wear party colours

“Kenyans will hold peaceful demonstrations tomorrow. It is a constitutional right. The illegitimate regime has acquired shirts with ODM/Azimio colours to be worn by their hired goons to cause mayhem,” the party said in a statement.

Going further, Kioni who is the former Ndaragwa MP emphasized that today’s gathering and march will be peaceful and reminded members and supporters of the former ruling party to keep the peace and remain mindful of the rights of other Kenyans.

Kioni further urged people to turn up for the march.

“Once again I urge you all to turn up in large numbers as we gather and march for justice and the right for everyone to afford a living in this county,” he added.

Raila over the weekend maintained that they will peacefully march to the State House to present their petitions to President William Ruto.

He, however, clarified that only a few individuals will walk into the State House if allowed.

He said if the President would not want to receive it, they will paste the petition at the gate of the State House, or hand it over to the guards.

Those who will be participating in the demonstrations outside Nairobi will march to their county offices, to deliver the petitions.

Raila said holding the mass action is the only option to have their demands heard.

“This is the only option to bring home our demands which we are doing not in our interests but on behalf of the people of Kenya,” he added.
