RAILA ODINGA GETS A BEAUTIFUL SURPRISE WHILE IN THE US

A Kenyan musician based in the United States, Ray Armilton, surprised former Prime Minister, Raila Odinga, with a campaign song during his tour of the US.

During a town hall meeting with Kenyans living in the US in Washington DC on Sunday, April 24, Raila was introduced to Armilton even as she took to the stage to surprise the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party boss with the special song.

Armilton could not hide her admiration for the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition Party presidential aspirant as she praised him in her Simama Leo song.

In the song, the US-based singer described Raila as a visionary leader who had done great things for the country.

“Raila knows the work of building Kenya. You have always been there to assist a majority of Kenyans when they need you.

“Our leader is Raila Amolo Odinga because he cares for all Kenyans. With Azimio, Inawezekana (it is possible),” read the song lyrics in part.

The ODM boss joined her on the stage as he danced to the new campaign song.

After the performance, Armilton received a standing ovation from the crowd that praised her for the good work.

On his part, the ODM boss stated that he was warmly received in the US, expressing his gratitude to Americans and Kenyans living in the US for the love they had shown him.

“I am really glad to be here. I felt like I was at a party somewhere. I am very delighted to be back here after two years. The last time I was here, we were with President Uhuru Kenyatta during the prayer breakfast,” the ODM boss stated.

Raila was in the company of Narc Kenya party leader, Martha Karua, and Mombasa businessman, Suleiman Shabhal, among other Azimio leaders.

On her part, Karua asked the Kenyans living in Diaspora to support Raila’s candidature with a majority of votes to ensure that he clinches the seat in the first round.

“We are looking for a team leader who can be trusted and a person who has been tried and tested. A person who has been consistent in championing for the rights of Kenyans. There is no other person except Baba the fifth,” she stated.
