MILLICENT OMANGA WILD CLAIMS EXCITES KENYANS

Nominated senator Millicent Omanga has on Tuesday October 19,2021 taken to her social media accounts to downplay the huge crowds that ODM leader Raila Odinga, has been addressing in his Meru rallies.

Omanga posits that the former premier was welcomed in 2017 with similar crowds in the Mount Kenya East county, but the numbers did not translate into votes.

The Ruto-allied lawmaker was alluding to Raila’s dismal performance in the 2017 general elections when he vied against President Uhuru Kenyatta.

She denoted that the presidential hopeful is set to suffer the same fate that befell him in the past general elections.

“In 2017 someone went to Meru and addressed a crowd of bamboozled crowd but he thought they were votes. I see history repeating itself in 2022. So help us God,” she posted.

Raila Odinga has been traversing the Mount Kenya region as he seeks to bolster his political fortunes in the region perceived to be a Deputy President William Ruto bastion.

The former Prime Minister was on October 19 in Tharaka Nithi County wooing grassroot leaders and residents to vote for him in 2022.

Raila was accompanied by local leaders who urged the residents to back him in his fifth stab at the presidency.

While speaking at the event in Chuka Town, Meru governor Kiraitu Murungi praised Raila as a progressive leader with a viable plan for the nation.

Murungi endorsed Raila’s candidature and promised to walk with him in his 2022 presidential campaigns.

“Raila is a man with a lot of energy. He is focused, bright, strategic and a fearless fighter. He is leading the economic revolution that will transform the lives of lowly placed Kenyans. We are not following him foolishly, we know the type of persons he is,” he said.
