MERU GOVERNOR KAWIRA SURRENDERS.

Meru Governor Bishop Kawira Mwangaza is certain that God will see her through the impeachment case set to begin at the Senate Tuesday.

The Governor has taken to her Facebook page to share a biblical message that ostensibly speaks of her case that the Senate will be probing in the next few days.

While quoting the book of Luke, the Governor appeared to suggest that God will vindicate her.

“Luke 12:11-12[11]“And when you are brought to trial in the synagogues and before rulers and authorities, don’t worry about how to defend yourself or what to say,[12]for the Holy Spirit will teach you at that time what needs to be said,” she shared.

The Senate committee probing the grounds for the impeachment of Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza begins its sittings at 10 am.

Members of the committee are already at the Senate Chamber preparing to hear the charges against Kawira.

Kawira is expected at the Chamber to take the plea.

She has lined up one witness.

Meru County Assembly on the other hand has been allocated three and a half hours to prosecute its case. It has lined up three witnesses.

The 11-member committee will determine whether accusations levelled against the governor warrant her removal.

The committee has up to December 30 to deliver its findings.

Kawira became the first county boss to be impeached barely three months after being sworn in.

All 67 Members of the County Assembly (MCAs) present during the impeachment session voted to remove her over abuse of office claims.
