MATIANGI FINALLY BREAKS SILENCE

Former Interior and Coordination of National Government Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i has broken silence after it was established that he is out of the country.

On Tuesday, February 28, the Directorate of Criminal Investigation, DCI established that Matiang’i left the country on February 19 at 12.04 in the morning. The agency got hold of a copy of his ticket that indicated he left aboard a KLM flight to Amsterdam, Netherlands.

Matiang’i’s lawyers have come out to issue a statement by the former CS following the developing story.

The lawyers on Wednesday morning noted that the powerful Minister in former President Uhuru Kenyatta’s government is in London, the United Kingdom. He is attending to an urgent family matter in the European country. The matter is private.

Matiang’i further pointed out that he has not fled the country.

The DCI had asked Matiang’i to appear before the agency five days ago to answer questions regarding the alleged house raid.

Yesterday the Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission, EACC also revealed that their officers were investigating Matiang’i regarding his wealth.
