GOVT TO DEDUCT 3% FROM TEACHER’S SALARY ONLY.

The Kenyan Government has finally unravelled that category of Kenyan citizens who will be deducted 3% from their respective monthly salaries.

Addressing via Housing Principal Secretary Charles Hinga today the 3rd of June 2023, the Kenyan Government has announced that not all Kenyan citizens will be entitled to contribute to the newly proposed housing levy.

The Kenyan Government has articulated that only Kenyan citizen who are employed will be deducted 3% from their respective monthly salaries in a strategic move fostered towards contributing to the housing levy.

The Kenyan Government sentiments essentially mean that only Kenyan citizens in the formal sector will be entitled to contribute to the housing levy on a mandatory basis and not those in the informal sector.
