FIGHT BREAKS IN AZIMIO’S MEETING CHAIRED BY RAILA.

ODM boss Raila Odinga, Narc Kenya Party leader Martha Karua and other top leaders in the Azimio coalition were supposed to unveil house ( National Assembly, Senate) leaders yesterday at Stoni Athi where they held a meeting with Azimio Parliamentary Group.

However, at the end of the meeting, the names were not unveiled. The naming of leaders was postponed to Monday.

It has now emerged that some conflicts emerged during the meeting leading to a big standoff that forced Raila, Martha and Kalonzi to call off the meeting and postpone the naming of the leaders.

According to Nation Africa, the Standoff began when Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka laid claim on the Senate minority whip seat. This was not welcomed well with members of the ODM party who insisted that the seat should be taken by an ODM member.

The parties had earlier agreed that the majority party which in this case is ODM will take the majority seat and majority whip in the National Assembly as well as minority seat and minority whip the senate.

Other parties are supposed to take up the deputy positions. Going against the agreement, Wiper boss Kalonzo Musyoka demanded that the position should be left for a Wiper candidate.

Another conflict also emerged within ODM where John Mbadi, Junet Mohammed and Opiyo Wandayi could not agree on wheo should take up the majority seat in the National Assembly. Since no decision was reached, the three names were forwarded to Raila who will personally act accordingly.
