DP GACHAGUA FINALLY ADDRESSES HIS FALLOUT WITH CS KINDIKI

On Saturday, April 1, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua denied rumours that he had a falling out with Interior Ministry Secretary Kithure Kindiki.

Gachagua stated that the reports surfaced after the CS skipped a security meeting he convened in his office on Sunday, March 26 while speaking at a religious event in Malava, Kakamega County.

Kindiki was also absent from the county because of official business, according to the DP. Gachagua maintained that he had a positive working relationship with the CS and that the media was to fault for the incident being reported incorrectly.

“Kindiki was not there when I met with our security leaders on Sunday because he had left to deal with robbers. They began claiming there were issues between us,” he said.

He also said that, contrary to what was implied in several reports earlier in the week, he had no problems with any other cabinet secretaries, notably Prime Cabinet CS Musalia Mudavadi.

“The media believe there may be flaws in our government. They are responsible for the story that I disagree with Mudavadi.

“Mudavadi and I have travelled far. As the previous President Uhuru Kenyatta’s personal assistant, I have slept there at night and eaten there, he claimed.
