CS FRED MATIANG’I ATTACKED MERCILESSLY BY RUTO’S CAMP

Deputy President William Ruto’s allies have hit out at Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i over what they termed as incessant harassment of the DP and his pointmen in a bid to scuttle his presidential campaigns.

The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party allied leaders spoke on Saturday during DP Ruto’s much anticipated mega rally held at the Eldoret Sports Club in Uasin Gishu County, where anti-Matiang’i protests dominated speeches.

The leaders censured Matiang’i and his Principal Secretary Karanja Kibicho over their involvement in succession politics by rallying behind Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga and frustrating DP Ruto.

South Mugirango lawmaker Sylvanus Osoro rubbished Matiang’i’s perceived political superiority in Kisii saying the CS is not an elected leader, neither does he represent the interests of the Gusii community.

“Matiang’i hawezi kuwa kitu; mimi ndiye mbunge wake huko Kisii. Msitishwe na jamaa ambaye hajawahi chaguliwa kiti chochote ata chairman wa cattle dip,” Osoro stated.

Osoro further faulted Matiang’i over his attacks on the DP, urging him to respect Ruto as he is duly elected, has and continues to serve in government.

“Unajipiga kifua kwa Ruto na ata hujawahi kuwa ata class rep na Ruto amechaguliwa miaka mingi ata akawa naibu wa rais. Kazi yako nikujipiga kifua na hujui ata kura zinachukuliwa namna gani,” he said.

Nyali Member of Parliament Mohammed Ali vowed to stand by the deputy president in his race to State House at all costs.

“Mimi Mkenya mzalendo naapa ya kwamba nitampigia kura Ruto kama rais wa Kenya, ewe Mwenyezi Mungu tusaidie,” said Ali.

He similarly told off Matiang’i and Kibicho over their alleged bid to frustrate Ruto’s presidential bid, saying they would however not match up with the potential of the DP.

“Akilia tutalia pamoja, wakimpiga, tutapigwa pamoja, akifanyiwa dhuluma tutafanyiwa dhuluma pamoja,” said Ali.

“Msiogope wale wa serikali bandika; msiogope kina Matiang’i na Kibicho; hao ni watoto wa shule ya chekechea hapa kwa Ruto.”

Chuka/Igambang’ombe MP Patrick Munene, on his part, claimed that CS Matiang’i and PS Kibicho are misleading Odinga, adding that it is the voters who have the power to elect leaders.

“Tunashuku kuwa Matiang’i na Kibicho wanadanganya Raila ati kuna kura watampatia; ikifika Christmas wanamfanya Father Christmas, January wanamfanyia birthday, wacha February wamfanyie Valentine,” said Munene.

Laikipia Woman Representative Cate Waruguru seconded the remarks claiming that President Uhuru Kenyatta and CS Matiang’i are not entirely genuine in their support of the former premier.

“Mimi nimekunywa chai na yule jamaa… akina Uhuru na Matiang’i hawamtaki, wamekosa alternative,” she said.
